This September holidays, Sing Lit Station presents the second session of Intro to Sing Lit Day, a new initiative to introduce educators to Singapore Literature, in line with the recent addition of Singapore poetry as a compulsory unit in the GCE O-Level examinations.
This programme is designed for teachers and educators-to-be who are looking for ways to bring Sing Lit alive in their classrooms. Explore the history of Sing Lit from its earliest instances to contemporary experimentations with poet Joshua Ip. Understand how Singaporean writers have used poetry & prose to document Singapore's journey and provide social commentary on key historical events.
Discover the Book A Writer programme run by Sing Lit Station, which brings contemporary Sing Lit authors into your classroom, and learn about other initiatives in technology, documentation, and community-building that could supplement your teaching. Finally, join writer and educator Christine Chia as she shares the online resources she uses and the pedagogy she applies in teaching Sing Lit in classrooms.
