Organised by STPI, "Personal Histories Through Poetry & Music" is a literary event held in conjunction with their ongoing Amanda Heng retrospective. Join Cyril Wong, Tania De Rozario and Pooja Nansi as they explore their personal histories and memories in this poetry and music showcase. You can expect poems of loss, longing and love.
Cyril Wong is a Singapore Literature Prize-winning poet and fictionist. He has performed as a countertenor at the Seoul Fringe Festival, and as a poet at the Edinburgh Book Festival and the Sydney Writers Festival. His last book of poems was The Lover's Inventory by Math Paper Press.
Tania De Rozario is an artist and writer. She is the author of And The Walls Come Crumbling Down (Math Paper Press |2016) and Tender Delirium (Math Paper Press | 2013). She was the 2011 winner of the SPH-NAC Golden Point Award for English Poetry, and she runs Etiquette SG, a multidisciplinary platform focused on developing and showcasing art, writing, film and music by women.
Pooja Nansi is a poet and performer. She is the author of Stiletto Scars and Love is An Empty Barstool. She also curates a monthly spoken word and poetry showcase called Speakeasy at Artistry which plays to packed audiences. Most recently, her one woman show You Are Here was performed at the Esplanade as part of Kalaa Utsavam as well as featured at the Queensland Poetry Festival. She was the NAC-NTU Writer in Residence for 2015-2016 and was also a recipient of the Young Artist Award in 2016.
