WORKSHOP: "The Truth About Heartbreak: A Generative Creative Nonfiction Workshop" with Max Pasakorn

  • Sing Lit Station 22 Dickson Road Singapore, 209506 Singapore (map)

How do you write about your love with it being… cringe?

In this generative workshop with Max Pasakorn, discuss the expansive possibilities afforded by the creative nonfiction genre as read essays that tackle heartbreak head on. Then, inspired by these pieces, write the sprout of your own essays about heartbreak, which could be nurtured into full-length works.

Published essays will be sent to participants prior to the workshop and participants are expected to read these works carefully in preparation for the workshop. Vulnerability is key to powerful creative nonfiction. As this workshop will be discussing vulnerable moments in failing relationships, readings will inevitably touch on sex. Individuals who are not keen on discussing these readings are not encouraged to sign up for this workshop. Additional content warnings will be provided to participants along with the readings.
