In this class, students will be invited to create their own writing systems by drawing on inspirations from existing writing systems and neographies. Students will need writing materials (even coloured pens if you want!) and lots and lots of paper.
Bring the most interesting word (it could be from any language or have a very significant meaning, or that it is a pleasing word to say or hear).
This class is part of The Substation's "A Home for the Arts" programme in November 2016. The School of Uncommon Knowledge is an art/workshop series that seeks to test the utility of art forms and art knowledge to their limits. As payment for participating in these workshops, participants are to provide items for barter with their respective artist-educators.
