What does it mean to have a research-based writing practice? Does the elusive muse live in the archives and if so, how do we find it?
Join Shawn Hoo and Sing Lit Station on Saturday, 23 July for a day-long workshop and reading event called S(h)ifting Sands — Sing Lit Station’s first in-person poetry event in almost three years!

What can poetry glean from the archive of texts, images, sounds, and silences? What might poetry achieve that non-fiction cannot? By looking at poetry that engages with the archives of Asia, attendees of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘗𝘰𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 workshop led by Shawn Hoo, will consider how the poet might ransack the researcher’s toolbox for their own uses.
