Featuring 7 works, the multi-disciplinary art exhibition examines different dimensions of human connections, mental health, emotional wellness. Meditating on stories of personal truths; from pain, loss, vulnerability that are too often unheard and unsaid of. The pieces in this exhibition reflect courage, love, freedom, and the immense power a person can have when they return to their authenticity and innocence once again. In a year of intense isolation and distance, our message is this: "genuine connection knows no boundaries".
The works challenge the audience members to think about these questions: Beneath the hustle and bustle of city life, what is the rhythm that really moves us? Beneath the elaborate sights and sounds we construct, what stories do we really want to tell? Beneath the fragile harmony we hold, what is the void that exists between, and within us?
The thorny issue of mental health has been placed in the spotlight ever since the onset of Covid-19. But we must recognize that the circumstances in 2020 only exacerbated problems that have long been present at the workforce: no work-life balance, a lack of healthy boundaries, and high levels of stress and anxiety.
We want to raise awareness on mental health, emotional wellness, and suicide prevention. Through art and conscious conversations, we aim to reshape and redefine our understanding of mental health and emotional wellness by unpacking the social stigmas of what is and what is not - beyond just the label. We want to address and re-educate the core of the issue, from the individual to the collective.
