Plato, famously, wanted to ban poets* from his Republic; while all too recently, poetry was still a luxury we couldn't afford. But do poets have a role in our public square? Can (and should) writers even try to shape public discourse? And why should we care about the health of our writing scene?
Come take the conversation forward with four writers from The Birthday Collective - Aaron Maniam, Amanda Chong, Choo Ruizhi and Theophilus Kwek! Together, we will discuss these and other questions, moderated by policy researcher Vernie Oliveiro. Do watch this space for more details about our guests!
