WORKSHOP: "From Page to Stage: An Introduction to Playwriting" with Joanne G. Ongkeko

  • Sing Lit Station 22 Dickson Road Singapore, 209506 Singapore (map)

This 2-part workshop (with the 2nd session on 22 Nov) will touch on the creation of a script that serves as the blueprint for a performance, providing instructions and dialogue for actors, as well as directions for set design, lighting, and sound. The process of playwriting involves careful crafting of dialogue, character development, and dramatic structure. Playwrights must possess a deep understanding of human behavior and relationships, as well as a keen eye for theatricality. They must be able to construct a compelling plot that captures the attention of audiences. Writing exercises will be given to the participants to get them ready to write a 10min play which will be workshopped in class during the 2nd session.
