The Singapore Writers Festival's Words Go Round programme is proud to present a talk by Yeong Leh Duo Sy titled, "A Meaningful Holiday (不一样的假期)".

学校假期来临，该做些什么事呢？慵懒地躺在沙滩上？去爬山远足？还是到商场购物买玩具？马来西亚童书作家永乐多斯邀请你来一起想一想假期还能做些什么。从她的作品《不一样的假期》中，看看主人翁郑小强怎么在假期中从隔壁的年长邻居身上受到了新启发。欢迎大家一起来创造一个属于你自己的“不一样的假期”！

What are some things you could do on a holiday? Lay on the beach? Climb a mountain? Shop for toys? In this talk, popular Malaysian children’s author, Yeong Leh Duo Sy, invites you to consider one other thing you could do on vacation. Through her story, A Different Holiday (不一样的假期), find out how the protagonist, Xiaoqiang, unexpectedly learns something new from his elderly neighbour. Be inspired to have (or write about) a different holiday of your own.

This session is in Mandarin and is suitable for ages 7 and up.
