ABOUT

Crispin Rodrigues is the author of four collections of poetry including dragon.paper.wind. (Pagesetters, 2024) and co-editor of a poetry anthology, Crazy Little Pyromaniacs (Math Paper Press, 2020). His poetry, short fiction and reviews have been featured in multiple journals such as Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, Rabbit, The Kindling and Voice and Verse Magazine. He is also co-organiser of a literary tour of Yishun, entitled Uncanny Yishun. Crispin’s interest include representations of racial identity and the body.

Description: Using major works of Singapore Literature, Crispin Rodrigues will demonstrate how Singapore writing captures major historical periods through a survey of these works and their place in the nation’s narrative.
Learning Outcomes: Students will understand and appreciate the role of Singapore writing in formation and inquiry of a national identity.

WORKSHOPS

Description: In this workshop, Crispin Rodrigues invites students to approach poetry with a curious mind and experiment produce new ways of constructing poems that invite readers to inquire and push the limits of the form.
Learning Outcomes: Students will learn how to experiment with various characteristics of poetry in order to understand how innovations in poems come about while trying their own hand at creating innovative experiments in the form.

*NEW* DESIGN YOUR OWN LITERARY TOUR
For: 
secondary, junior college; 5 - 25 pax
Availability: 2 hours, 2.5 hours, 3 hours; single session
Description: In this workshop, Crispin Rodrigues will teach participants to design and organise their own literary tour, whether it is within their neighbourhood, school or any other location through writing about place and the phenomena that surrounds them.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will learn how to devise their own literary tour in a locale of their choosing, as well as curating and writing for the literary tour.
