Spoken word poetry often takes its audience on a journey. How can poets do this by weaving a compelling story with their poetry? In this workshop, Jedidiah Huang draws on his experience as a screenwriter and spoken word poet to teach participants the basics of storytelling and how to apply it to their spoken word poems. At the end of the workshop, participants should learn how to create a satisfying arc and clear through line within their poems. Participants are encouraged to bring a spoken word poem that they’d like to workshop.
“Drama In Poetry” is part of a migrant worker creative writing workshop series held on the 4th Sunday of the month, presented by Migrant Writers of Singapore and supported by Sing Lit Station.
Interested participants may WhatsApp Janelyn at +65 8423 3274 to register a slot for the workshops. Slots will be given on a first come, first served basis.
