Step into this red-brick heritage building and immerse yourself in a two-night showcase of everything SingLit-inspired! Encounter the unknown in an out-of-this-world spoken word performance at a decommissioned power station. Discover hidden stories between steel beams from yesteryear. This power station electrifies and brings SingLit to new light. Be part of this and much more at SingLit Power House.

Modern: Resonance II
6.00 - 7.00pm
The architecture of a building is not just about aesthetics, it is a narrative of time and space. In the spirit of the centenary of the Bauhaus, an influential German movement which focused on minimalism and functionality, Modern: Resonance ll pays tribute to the hardware and software of a power station – its utilitarian principles and generations of workers. Join Singaporean artists Li-Chuan Chong, Deborah Emmanuel and Alecia Neo as they reawaken Pasir Panjang Power Station with music and artistic appropriation in the form of a performance.
This performance was first initiated by Goethe-Institut Singapore.
Free. General Admission to SingLit Power House by Registration.

An Exercise in Noticing
5.00 - 9.30pm
Presented in and around Pasir Panjang Power Station, An Exercise in Noticing leads audiences on a personal contemplative passage through a journey of Singapore literature. Rather than a linear or concise history, it unfolds like an anecdotal tapestry. Snatches of narrative, musings, sound and dialogue are installed along the alcoves and corridors of this decommissioned power station, guiding audiences in a self-paced experience to discover the hidden scenes of Singapore literature.
Presented by Cake.
Free. General Admission to SingLit Power House by Registration.

Glorious, Monstrous, Hantu Tales from Singapore
8.00 - 9.30pm
Watch as live performance, film and writing collide in this magnetising event drawn from the voices of Singaporean writers. With spirits and monsters, shadows and visions, fractured states of mind and displays of fantasy and haunting, this event is a psychedelic and spine-chilling dose of live-performance-meets-film as three actors interact with a swirl of characters captured on film.
Presented by Cake. Glorious, Monstrous, Hantu Tales from Singapore was commissioned by National Arts Council and first presented at Southbank Centre as part of London Literature Festival 2019.
$15. Admission to Performance by Ticket.
