What will Singapore be like in the future? In the minds of authors Ng Yi-Sheng, Teo Xue Shen and Andre Yeo, life in the Republic is fabulously colourful yet with hints of danger. Join them at this event as they share how their idea of Singapore is represented in their respective books.

Ng Yi-Sheng is an award-winning poet and author, having won the Singapore Literature Prize in 2006. Lion City is his debut collection of short stories, some of which are previously unpublished.

Teo Xue Shen wrote his thriller, 18 Walls, on his mobile phone while still in National Service. It tells the story of a young soldier defending a walled city against the enemy—but the big question is, who is the real enemy?

Andre Yeo’s thriller, 9th of August, is about what happens when six suicide bombers sneak into Singapore during National Day. It was shortlisted for the Epigram Books Fiction Prize.
