What if libraries were sentient, and kept your every memory? The future is already here and you are an inhabitant living in year 2219.

To launch the exhibition, ArtScience Museum presents a very special edition of ArtScience Late held in conjunction with the preview of 2219: Futures Imagined, where you are invited to make your way to The Library of Necessary Books - nestled in the heart of the exhibition.

From literary canon to DIY manuals of utilitarian know-how, The Library of Necessary Books is a collection of texts lovingly handed down for generations, from the past into the future. The last known Bookkeeper of the Library will greet you, and offer to read some stories. Except soon, you may realise that truth is stranger than fiction…
