Come celebrate the launch of Mynah Magazine's second issue with a panel on history and storytelling with Mynah contributors Kirsten Han, Faris Joraimi and Yu-Mei Balasingamchow!
Entry is free but donations are more than welcome – Mynah is a non-profit magazine and all proceeds will go towards funding the production and distribution of the issue. There'll be limited copies of Mynah #1 for sale as well as the new issue, fresh off the presses: copies on sale at the event will retail at 26 SGD.
Kirsten Han is a freelance journalist, writer and activist. Her work mainly revolves around the themes of social justice, human rights, politics and democracy. She is Editor-in-Chief of New Naratif and is also a founding member of We Believe in Second Chances, which campaigns for the abolition of the death penalty in Singapore.
Faris Joraimi is an undergraduate at Yale-NUS College. An enthusiast of classical Malay literature and history, he is also editor of an upcoming book on Malay ethnography.
Yu-Mei Balasingamchow is the co-author of Singapore: A Biography (2009), and co-editor of the literary collection, In Transit: An Anthology from Singapore on Airports and Air Travel (2016). She has been a freelance curator, researcher and writer for history, art and culture projects in Singapore for over a decade. She lives in Singapore and is working on a novel.
