Who should take responsibility for the decline of the usage of Tamil language among students: parents or teachers?
There is no better time to inculcate a love for language than in childhood. Children who were taught from young to love the Tamil language will consciously or subconsciously pass on their love of the language to the younger generation. However students in Singapore seem to treat it as a school subject they need to pass rather than an enriching life skill. Who is responsible for this decline in usage of Tamil language among students and what can be done to reverse this trend?
Join Singapore Literature Prize authors Krishnamurthi Mathangi, Samuvel Nepolian Devakumar and Mohamed Kassim Shanavas as they discuss the decline of the usage of Tamil language among students. Dr Seetha Lakshmi will moderate this panel.
This panel discussion will be in Tamil and is free to the public.
