Speakeasy is back with another edition in November!
Laurel Flores Fantauzzo is the author of the nonfiction book THE FIRST IMPULSE (Anvil Publishing) and the co-editor of the LGBTQ anthology PRESS: 100 LOVE LETTERS (University of the Philippines Press). She was a 2016 finalist for the Pen/FUSION Award, and she has earned grants and residencies from Erasmus, WrICE, Hedgebrook, Fulbright, and the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice. She will be reading from her young adult novel in progress, featuring a closeted Filipina American teenager getting into trouble in Southern California. laurelfantauzzo.com
Theophilus Kwek has published four volumes of poetry, including The First Five Storms (2017), which won the New Poets' Prize. In addition, he has recently won the Berfrois Poetry Prize, and was placed Second in the Stephen Spender Prize for Poetry in Translation for 2016. His poems, essays, and translations have appeared in The Guardian, The Irish Examiner, The London Magazine, and the Asia Literary Review. He serves as Co-Editor of Oxford Poetry, and also writes frequently about refugee and migrant issues.
