Singaporean literature is an important element of our cultural identity that brings joy to readers. It is essential that we celebrate our stories that define us and that we support the passionate people who bring these stories to all.
#BuySingLit aims to raise awareness of Singaporean literary titles in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil; writers of all races; and bookshops to the general public; and create a strong, positive identity for Singapore’s literary sector. Our target audience are book buyers and readers in the four official languages across all literary genres (e.g. fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry); people with interest in local content (e.g. film, design); and all who value reading.
The Buy SingLit Festival will take place from 23 - 26 Feb 2017 at Gillman Barracks, with satellite events situated across the country. Organised by the National Book Council of Singapore, with Sing Lit Station as one of its programme partners, who are organising the following events:
