In this workshop, participants will create and produce a small fanzine or self-published magazine. The fanzine's content can comprise almost anything including prose, poetry, drawing, photography, collage, etc. It could also be a tiny catalogue or portfolio, comic, storybook or anything else you can imagine. It's a great way to complete a small artistic object while learning how to fit your artistic output into a format.
Participants should bring their own drawing tools, printed materials, writings or anything else they'd like to use in their fanzine.
This class is part of The Substation's "A Home for the Arts" programme in November 2016. The School of Uncommon Knowledge is an art/workshop series that seeks to test the utility of art forms and art knowledge to their limits. As payment for participating in these workshops, participants are to provide items for barter with their respective artist-educators. More information about the "A Home for the Arts" programme (including registration links) can be found in the Facebook link provided below.
